Restoring Hope at Gateway 180: A Day of Service and Impact
Posted on July 25, 2025
As part of Summer Celebration 2025, over 120 Larson team members stepped away from their desks and into service at Gateway 180, a shelter supporting families experiencing homelessness in St. Louis. This year marked our largest Warrior Impact Time project to date, and one of the most hands-on.
Volunteers rolled up their sleeves to take on a wide range of projects throughout the day. Inside, teams deep-cleaned spaces impacted by a recent fire and helped sort donations. Outside, crews tackled major landscaping repairs, installed raised garden beds, and gave new life to an outdoor courtyard that had long been unusable. Meanwhile, another group led a Kids Camp with crafts, games, and smiles all around — creating space for kids to simply be kids.
The day kicked off with a safety briefing from Matthew Jennings before teams fanned out across the property, tools in hand and purpose in heart. A mid-day cookout brought everyone together for grilled lunch and community-building with Gateway 180 residents and staff.
To close the day, we gathered for a special Ribbon Cutting Ceremony, officially reopening the outdoor greenspace as a safe, welcoming environment for the families who call Gateway 180 home. The transformation was not only visible, but deeply felt by everyone present.
This project was more than just a volunteer day. It was a reminder of what’s possible when we come together with intention, generosity, and care. Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make a lasting impact.
